About Me

Primarily, as a Driving Instructor, I teach a life skill and have been doing so since Summer 2004. Indeed, when people ask what I do for a living they initially appear surprised, explaining that at 32 years old surely I'm a bit young... I view this as an advantage as I find it easy to create a relaxed atmosphere with those younger pupils. This of course helps greatly in their learning, all the while retaining that suitable professionalism, naturally. I have worked with LDC since qualifying as an Instructor, and I believe that their teaching materials greatly aid today's learner in understanding all there is to know about driving... Not only towards both the theory and practical test, but beyond as well. Driving is - after all - a career in itself.

Writing is a huge part of my life, and over the years I have chiselled at it from all angles in order to find my voice. With various pieces published here and there, from short stories to poems, I am now solely concentrating on a ficiton novel: a cross-genre triangle of fantasy, horror and sci-fi.

As a keen craftsman in all things wood and metal, since 2000 I have made and sold clocks, mirrors, wine racks and book-ends.

We all love to take photos and I'm certainly no different there. It has been said that I can see beauty in things unloved and defunct, having a perception which plucks images from the most unlikely of places.

In 2008 I travelled through Asia and have since put together a non-fiction book covering that inspirational journey. Combining both words and photos I felt it necessary to share my experience of treading such beautiful landscapes shadowed by poverty. It was sold through Blurb to raise money for UNICEF.

General hobbies include frequent early-morning gym sessions, playing guitar, astronomy and reading. Incidentally, TV doesn't feature in my life. However, just like anyone, I love a good movie.
